El grupo Texas es originario de Glasgow, Escocia y se formó en 1986 gracias al empeño del bajista, Johnny McElhone. Su vocalista -y guitarra-, Sharleen Spiteri, le da el toque a unas canciones ya de por sí bellas y elegantes, pero acentuadas gracias a su cristalina y sensual voz.

Su discografía, que va desde 1989 a 2005, cuenta hasta ahora con siete trabajos, más el Greatest Hits recopilatorio que publicaron en el año 2000.

Say what you want es relativamente reciente y de sus canciones más conocidas. Pertenece al álbum White on blonde, de 1997.
